Under the Medium-Term Management Plan 2024, we are working to achieve a ratio of female employees fresh out of college to 30% and to redevelop systems for empowering seniors and strengthening human resources.

In order for our corporate group to continue providing a stable supply of natural gas and iodine, which are precious domestic resources, during these significant changes in social conditions and the business environment, we must tackle various management issues and achieve management goals by having our employees exert their potential to the maximum degree. To that end, it is essential to develop human resources that can improve their abilities and boldly take on challenges based on our basic concept that “human resources are the pillars that support management.” Since a company cannot grow without the growth of each employee, we are working on various personnel policies to realize a vibrant organizational culture and improve our employees’ motivation and job satisfaction.
Recruitment
When recruiting new human resources, our corporate group respects the fundamental human rights of applicants and strictly adheres to the principle of “individual-centered selection” so as not to disadvantage anyone based on domicile, birthplace, gender, family environment, beliefs, or the like. Furthermore, after employment, we ensure fair evaluation and treatment so that there is no discrimination in pay raises or promotions based on factors other than the individual’s performance, behavior, and ability.
Evaluation and treatment
The treatment of our employees, which is a tool for developing human resources that are essential for the company’s continuous development, is fairly determined by going through a multi-faceted and multi-layered evaluation procedure during the annual personnel evaluation. However, the purpose of personnel evaluation is not only to obtain information to ensure the fairness of treatment, but also information on each employee’s skill development that would help them achieve their growth through work. Through the management of employees’ personal goals and interviews with their superiors, we clarify the points that should be further developed and the points that need improvement, focusing on the continuous growth of all employees.

Human resource development
Due to the unique nature of the natural gas and iodine businesses, human resources development in our corporate group is centered on on-the-job training through daily operations. We also have various mechanisms in place to conduct effective human resource development that combines in-house training (new employee training, mid-career employee training, line manager training, etc.), off-the-job training through external training (external workshops, seminars, etc.), and self-development through correspondence education and e-learning.

Diversity
In order for our corporate group to utilize its limited human resources and continue to develop in the future, it is necessary to bring together the collective strengths of diverse human resources, regardless of positions, titles, gender, or age. For this reason, we treat all employees as “career-track employees” and promote the active participation of motivated and capable employees while implementing rank-specific training plans regardless of gender. We also provide various learning opportunities, such as correspondence education and e-learning, to encourage part-time and fixed-term employees to grow as our fellow workers. Furthermore, to fulfill our social responsibility as a company, we are extending the retirement age to stabilize the employment of the elderly as the birthrate declines and the population ages rapidly.
Health and safety
Our corporate group places importance on ensuring the safety and health of its employees, which is a prerequisite for the execution of company business. Thus, we regularly hold in-house safety and health committee meetings and systematically carry out various activities such as in-house lectures and workplace patrols. In addition, we have an industrial physician and a public health nurse to provide health consultations and guidance to employees. Also, in preparation for emergencies such as disasters, we have introduced an emergency contact and safety confirmation system to transmit information to employees’ mobile phones and to confirm their safety.
Work-life balance
Under the slogan of “becoming a company where everyone can work energetically,” our corporate group is implementing initiatives to reduce working hours, improve productivity and promote employee health, and have established a comprehensive childcare support system and nursing care support system to realize a healthy and comfortable life and enhance work-life balance for our employees.
